Pros

Remote work, good work/life balance

Cons

I started interviewing for a position right after the 4th of July. I went through a round of 4 interviews. And got my job offer shortly after. I was leaving a current job position of 5 years, which they knew. I am a single mom, which they knew. I stressed these things. I was so excited for this “great opportunity”. It was a big decision to leave my position I was in. At a company that was secure, to work for Clearcover. started working at Clearcover on 8/14/2023 and was completely blind sided with a lay off that hit the company of 28% of employees on 8/31/2023. 9 days!! 9 days after leaving a company I was at for 5 years!! With absolutely zero remorse. And no answer from HR on WHY they even hired me. This company is unethical and I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to work for any place that could do soemthing like this to someone in this economy. This completely turned out lives upside down.

Pros

Some of the people. Pay was decent to start.

Cons

I left a while ago, and I see from friends and online that it’s sinking further and further into the muck of what could have been. Reading these reviews…. The CEO is going to lose the company. But then again that may be the goal… 1. Micromanaging on a heavy workload, while friends of managers skate by. 2. No support. If you need help, probably should look elsewhere. 3. They toe the line of legal and ethical practices. Both with employees and customers. Customer’s have been sent checks that bounce. They have been caught canceling policies with out correct and legal steps being take. God forbid you have a payroll issue… you’ll have to do without pay for many weeks and several paychecks. Forget feeding your family. 4.the harder you work the more they take away. 5. I’ve seen managers start multiple department meetings of seemingly intoxicated. That is the strange woman I saw finally had the heat in AZ get to her, though I think it was cool back then. 6. Your family will mean nothing. Medical emergencies… should have planned better. Having a baby? We’re removing you from the system. 7. You better be a higher ups besty to get anywhere. Otherwise the managers will laugh and crack jokes about you, refuse you any forward momentum. And when you ask why advancement conversation doesn’t occur… you are blamed even if you have tried. 7. I’m sure some forensic accounting would not be amiss.

Pros

The company is fully remote.

Cons

Complete and total lack of transparency from the top down. Before the first round of layoffs, the C-suite was silent. There were no company wide meetings to update on progress in 2023 until the layoff in April. They hid that they were failing for months on end. They claimed they would become more transparent and then continued to hide information on the company’s position. Total lack of transparency around salaries as well. There are no paybands available from HR. I worked in a position where someone with less experience made over 40k more than me. No explanation could be given on that one. So I just had to accept it as normal and in the payband that did not exist. Round 2 of layoffs hit and they let go of 28% of the company. With no engineers left who will maintain the tech part of the insuretech? PTO was changed from unlimited to 20 days. Snack boxes were changed to a lesser quality company and then fully taken away. The perks just continue to drop off as the company falls apart.
