Pros
In general, staff, faculty, and students are great. Faculty care about student achievement. Flexibility - some positions allow for a ton of flexibility in scheduling. As another review mentioned, it's a good place to get started teaching, especially if you're available on campus during the days.
Cons
Morale - never a good thing when the President says, "any of your jobs are in jeopardy." Although raises have been pretty regular with the new President, however, before that, staff endured 7 years with no raises. Financial instability: constant worry about enrollment and budget. Annual (at least) staff eliminations using layoffs or organizational reorganization as a reason, and a push to remove staff from the previous admin. Bringing in former colleagues from other failing institutions. Diminished loyalty to staff and little-to-no professional development.
