Some managers got very passive aggressive about servers taking breaks, even though we took them far less than we're legally entitled to. They will also try to force you to come in after hours for free to entertain their guests on top of coming back and working your regular shifts, or to go "promote the club" which entails basically soliciting people from random locations they picked out. It was strange.
The older bouncers were great but then they started hiring people underqualified for the position, which lead to unease. I was told by bouncers that they were discouraged by the low pay, and the fact that their tips were promised to be higher than they actually were.
When I was hired, I was promised much higher tip income than I actually recieved. I got along good with customers, and had few complaints- it was lack of customers. There was excuse after excuse as to why traffic was so slow, but it never really picked up outside of the weekends.
