Pyramid Scheme

Pros

Very energetic, passionate people that hope to have a successful career

Cons

This is a pyramid-type scheme that gets recent grads desperate for a job in with the promises of "marketing" and "event planning" experience, then plops them in Sam's Club to push goods while paying them minimum wage. It's a sales position. Advertise it as a sales position instead of getting kids' hopes up. They also reel them in by promising an express track to an executive level. It's just a constant cycle of hiring and training. This leads to a huge turnover rate. The only person truly profiting off of this is the woman in the office, the founder.

Sales at Sams Clubs

Pros

Very enthusiastic and supportive team, you will learn a lot very quickly about the marketing (sales) systems. You are in charge of your own pay there through sales and your own mobility upward.

Cons

They do their best not to sell this as a sales job, but it is a sales job. Your pay depends on your sales at the Sam's Clubs. Be prepared to be on your feet and trying to convince many people that they "need" products.

Not a position for the entitled

Pros

This company is great. They don't do any door to door business to business cold calling or ANYTHING like that. The compensation is broken down to the decimal point in both the second and third round interview, as well as the orientation. The owner of the company spends half her doing the exact same thing as the people she hires for entry level, so it's not like it's some ridiculous scam. This is not a position for someone looking to work a 9/5 making minimum wage for minimum effort. This is not a commissioned position, as implied by some of the previous reviews, made by people who were never even employed by the company. Everyone who works for this company has heart and passion, they do their best all day everyday. Walking into work every morning is an inspiration. I have never been around a group of more talented, motivated and passionate people as I have been working for Cobalt.

Cons

It's really quite annoying to sometimes have to interact with negative people who can't see past their own egos. It takes a lot of commitment. There are definitely some aspects that aren't so glamorous, long hours, early mornings, but nothing beats the feeling of waking up in the morning, throwing on a nice blazer and a pair of heels (sorry guys) and being around people who always want more.
