Pros

Lovely residents and staff Shift work which can be flexible.

Cons

The company has become too big and corporate. The staff work really hard to keep the residents happy and cared for but the head office is increasingly antagonistic towards their staff. There are no benefits and they only care about money. Bank holiday and Xmas pay keeps going down and down. They will take out your wages if you are 5 minutes late but won't add to it if you stay an hour late to finish a task. They only give you 15 minutes break which is barely time to make a cup of tea and drink it when you are not allowed to eat and drink on the floor and if you are late back will cut your wages. They claim to be person centred but it is all for show. If you are on bank and you call in sick they will punish you by not allowing you to work for 2 weeks. That means they will have to fill your shifts with agency workers. Who through no fault of their own are often under trained and under experienced. Therefore they would rather punish you for being a human and being sick (not wanted to put vulnerable people at risk by coming to work or spreading your virus round the other staff) and have their residents less cared for by agency staff that don't know them or the home. It doesn't matter if you rarely call in sick. They will treat you the same as someone who always calls out. It is so sad that the company has become like this.

Pros

It can be rewarding caring for people, some of the staff were lovely. You can get your NVQs if you can bear being trapped working for them while you're there.

Cons

Oh boy where do I begin. Management do not care about staff or the residents. Staff were not given enough gloves (all the manager and clinical lead care about is their bonus, not healthy and safety) residents left with minimal pads so they're sat in their excrement for hours or staff are fighting over gloves, pads and wipes. Management are incompetent, one employee was paid incorrectly every week for over a year. Clinical lead is patronizing and refuses to help even if the home is dangerously short staffed. Good, decent staff members were driven out by management because they stand up for the residents or report unsafe practise. A resident was assaulted 4 times and the manager swept it under the carpet until a nurse complained to the police. Numerous items of irreplaceable jewelry stolen from residents, again manager failed to get to the root of who was doing it. Staff attacked by residents, no support from clinical lead or management. I could go on, colten should be investigated by CQC.

Pros

One of the best rates of pay ph Staff meals free

Cons

Toxic higher management, clicks and closed doors. Poorly managed. Profit not care oriented. Paper work gets them the good rating with CQC not the care in many of the homes.
