Pros

This organisation has a clear vision and the funding to deliver it. Well resourced.

Cons

The toxic culture at Common Seas comes right from the top (CEO). The most extreme and oppressive micro management that I have encountered in a long career. Staff are not trusted to perform their roles. If you question the frequent and erratic changes to priorities then you will be berated in team meetings. Incredibly demoralising.

Pros

Positive mission and nice colleagues.

Cons

Has an extreme culture of micro-management. All decisions go through CEO so there is no autonomy. Very high staff turnover. Think twice before leaving an existing role to join Common Seas.

Pros

This company has given some incredible experiences and support throughout my time here, which has been refreshing in comparison to previous workplaces. The entire team are kind and knowledgeable in their fields and the business itself is achieving great things that make you truly proud to be a part of it. The CEO & management team have given me more support and compassion in my personal life than any other company I have worked for and are quick to offer support and flexibility in workload or responsibilities if you need help.

Cons

Previous reviews have given very a dramatic and exaggerated view of management which is untrue and unfair on how the place operates and everyone working here. There has been disjointed ways forward when changing priorities arise, but management have been making active changes to move forward in the best way, and adopting a flexible approach is standard in smaller new businesses. I would say a con is that there is no current structure for role progression due to being a relatively small start-up, but they do pay well so is a fair compromise.
