Interdepartmental Competition, Poor Leadership, Mishandled Layoffs
Pros
flexibility with kids/family needs, some excellent lower management and team camaraderie, good benefits, mental health services, staff volunteerism
Cons
mistrust between both colleagues and leadership, mishandling of resources, arrogance in ministry, lies and secret conversations, prioritization of personal preferences over what is best for the organization, loudest voice wins, leadership cannot be questioned or challenged, culture of exclusion, dismissal of women as valuable leadership unless they aren't "emotional," emphasis on visual impact, personal clout and cool-factor over Church, very few boundaries—expect your work life to bleed into your home life (and the reverse), leadership does not respect or adequately equip administrative assistants with the answers they need, style over substance, yes-man culture, lack of organization or foresight
