A ticking time bomb.

Pros

They have monthly catered lunches. The office is located in a great spot in downtown Austin. The CEO, Laura Brady, is great. The people they hire are great, hard-working people who are overworked and under appreciated by upper management.

Cons

The company is a ticking time bomb. Like others have said, it's a revolving door of lay offs and reorganizations. Upper management has little to no experience working outside of this company, except for a few people, so they don't have any real world experience to pull from. Real estate is a turbulent business, but the risks they take are uncalculated and never seem to pay off. Leadership does not give clear direction and then expects you to read their minds. It's not enough to simply do your job, they expect you to work miracles. It's a small company that does some things well, but they want to act like a big dog in the industry, and it's just not true. Sometimes the work felt duplicitous and downright deceitful. It's a very unpredictable company and business model.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your thoughts on working at Concierge Auctions. We consider both current and former employees’ views crucial to our success as a company. Related to your observations around leadership and upper management, we are an innovative company and often make quick decisions as needed to adapt to the constantly changing Real Estate Industry. We do have high standards and expectations of our team. One of our company values is Commitment – to be hardworking, driven, ready and willing to go the extra mile. As a result, we have remained the industry leader for eleven years and have been named one of America’s fastest-growing companies six years in a row by Inc. 5000. We see it as a tremendous benefit that many of our leadership team has been with us for over a decade; however, we agree that we need to remain open to outside perspectives. We appreciate your insights and will do our best to ensure all of our employees understand how deeply we value them. Thanks again for taking the time to leave this review. We wish you the best in your career.

Pros

Looks great from the outside.

Cons

Want you to pay for everything up front for your trips and the reimbursement and pay comes a lot later than you are told. Always changing and firing people. No job security. You work 14-16 hour days with no time off and no training or appreciation. Seems great at first but it's not.

Thank you for your insights into your experience as a Project Sales Manager with Concierge Auctions. The PSM role is certainly high risk / high reward, and with full-time travel while on assignment, we understand it requires a deep commitment and unique skill set. Change is especially constant for our outside sales teams, and we ask our team members to be flexible and adaptable. In regard to your comments on expenses, we would need more particulars to address this concern. PSMs are paid on the net profit of their assignments within 10-15 days after funding, which is transparent due to our Open Book Financials; however, we are always considered whether/how it can be more streamlined. Thanks again for your input.

Pros

They have an unlimited Paid Time Off, but it's not exactly true. Ping Pong Table. There's a beer spigot, but no beer... Everything looks nice on the surface.

Cons

Unfair review and promotional process. Does not follow up with clients after auctions. Management doesn't seem to invest any time in development of employees. More focused on immediate sales goals. The only people who know what is going on are the inner circle of management who do not do a good job at communicating to everyone else in the company.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate feedback from current and former employees. We have never had an unlimited paid time off plan. We have an open paid time off plan that is subject to manager discretion. Concierge Auctions has a culture of ownership so we trust our employees to manage their own schedules, work with their teams to get everything done and do what they feel is necessary to meet their own personal goals. Schedules vary from team to team here but as long as you are contributing to the organization, we remain pretty flexible. With open paid time off, you can take the days you need but your manager can also ensure your bases are covered. We have 13 rather than 10 office holidays to help those who have trouble turning off while on vacation. You are correct that we do not have a beer spigot. We have a filtered water fountain. We do not have free beer but employees sometimes bring some into the office at the end of the day for late meetings. After our 2016 year end performance review process we promoted 13 employees which is 20% of our staff. Furthermore, 57% of the Senior Leadership Team consists of employees who started out in entry-level or contract roles and have moved up the chain to become amazing leaders of the organization. We strongly believe in promoting from within and investing in great talent. If you work hard at Concierge Auctions, the developmental opportunities are endless. We offer employees an annual education stipend that they can use towards courses, conferences or licenses to ensure everyone is growing within their fields. We are rolling out more regular performance reviews in 2017 which we hope will open up communication and provide employees with more clarity around goals and developmental opportunities. We are also introducing several initiatives to bring further transparency into all processes so employees can understand the business as a whole and work as an entrepreneur in the organization.
