Worked with some great people but working for CCHQ is marred by financial issues and poor HR
Pros
Worked with some interesting people Decent pay for my position (but some other staff felt underpaid, esp graduates employed as Campaign Managers) Some of the staff are very professional, my first manager was great.
Cons
Financial issues - CCHQ has cashflow issues and made a large number of the YCCMs redundant and restructured our pay for new roles if we wished to reapply, these new roles would in effect represent a pay cut by changing the contracts from Jan 2018-Jan 2019 to Sept-May the next year. They did not reemploy a significant number of initial hires. This will become a bigger issue for new hires in all roles given the current donor shortage Poor HR - terminated my contract illegally then reinstated me after a month halfway through my contract when I threatened action Email system never works properly and password needs to be updated every month by emailing IT which gets annoying extremely annoying Lack of career progression for staff at the moment due to long standing hire freezes in many departments.
