Having to deal with HR / People & Culture who are 'wanna-be's' and please the senior leadership team and like to talk the talk but have no idea how to walk in an operational person's shoes to save themselves. Not being related to a member of the senior management group or a friend of their relatives from school. Not being one of the 'in-crowd' who is prepared to do anything at any expense (forget integrity and honesty). Lack of support from senior management, implementation of 'innovative' ideas that were just innovations for innovation's sake and made life harder. Skeleton staffing that was just ongoing. Cutting corners in the OH&S / PPE areas just because of the costs involved. Employee, community and client exposure to risks and hazards, again due to cost cutting exercises. No real progression plans for anyone, other than those put in place by middle-management who may have actually cared about their team members.
