Pros
The convenience store below the office.
Cons
1. High Turnover Rate: employees are all new hire who have worked less than 6 months and still under probation. They are always hiring as employees keep resigning or get terminated. 2. Control-Obsessed: the boss will keep reminding you to update every single task with completion date and time in the software Asana taking up times that could be use to do the actual work. The bosses always choose to talk to employees right before work ends and drag past working hour. They don't care about the employees, work comes first. 3. Unconducive Environment: nobody talks in the office when the bosses are in the office. Except for work-related matters. You really cannot tell until you are inside and experience it, how people behave in the office. Adding on, the socket will be switch off everyday and I have to crawl under the desk to switch on again the next day. Stationery has to return to the shelf after work. What's the point? Save costs? 4. Problem-Solving: you will be given tasks not within your capability and knowledge, the boss knew it when he interviewed you. He mentioned we are always learning means you research online, there's nobody you can seek help from in the workplace. If you are unable to do the task, off you go. The boss would degrade you saying you are not putting efforts in your work even when you spend extra time after work researching for answers. Their working style is selling client the ideas on things they are not familiar or confident about and just tell you to get it done in a few days time. How you get the resources? Search online. 5. This company is just wasting people's time. I am writing this to provide insight into this company's culture as previously I didn't find much information online. Note: the boss is a bully. On my last day of work, I walked to an empty seat (free seating arrangement) but he stopped me and told me to sit elsewhere. Nobody is occupying that seat. Passive aggressive behaviour. Create positive culture? Lying to who. This is not my first job and it's an 'eye-opening' experience. Not worth it. Anyway none of my business now and I feel better after leaving.
Pros
-Suitable for people who loves self-learning. -Remote work. -Flexible working hours.
Cons
The company culture has become absolutely toxic -Employees no longer seem happy at work and management is absolutely oblivious. -Low morale among employees. No sense of belonging as part of the company. -Management will try to talk to you to manipulate the situation, and things will go back to the toxic reality. -Rigid management not open to fresh ideas and improvement. -You will face unnecessary process you have to do. They don’t care your feeling and just measure your work efficiency. You have to be perfect part of machinery. -Management make casual decision and always change it. -Management doesn’t have proper time management. -Unreasonable termination of employees. -Ridiculous KPI, and often raise immediately so staffs can not get it. Probation strictly depend on KPI. -Unrealistic goal & deadline.
Pros
- Good snacks in pantry - Amazing colleagues
Cons
The management is both passive aggressive and micro aggressive. Which is an amazing feat in itself. Things like sighing too loudly or not responding to good morning greetings can lead to them being unhappy with you. Big brother is always watching. Employees don’t talk to each other in the company using Teams or the company wifi. We use our own mobile data and other communication platforms just to have some privacy. There’s a obsessive emphasis on creating a “positive work environment”. This “core company value” borders on ridiculous because the only ones bringing down the “positive work environment” is the management. Management wants everyone to stay healthy. Which is why they weigh you every month and announce to the entire office if you’ve gained or lost weight. You’re also expected to join in on after office hours sports activities that happen weekly and will face micro aggressions if you don’t attend. You’re to bring your computer home everyday so that you’re contactable and able to work at all hours because “the industry demands that you put in the hours”. You can expect to have meetings, appraisals, and “casual discussions” scheduled at the last minute, after office hours, pretty regularly. These can take go on up to 3 hours without any time off or OT pay. The list goes on. Read everyone else’s reviews. They aren’t lying. The management is going to say things like “derogatory remarks directed at undermining our company’s core value” and “be wary of info on the internet”. When you interview with them and ask them about it, they’re going to say that it’s employees that have grudges against them. Just know that we write these so that job seekers don’t make the same mistake as we did of joining this company.
