Pros

Only pros to working here were having your friendly regular customers

Cons

-Disgusting standard of pay, pay the bare minimum per hour. I was on £5.50 per hour when I started. -Worked by myself until late at night. This is a huge safety issue when you are a young woman manning a shop serving all sorts of drunk/abusive customers on a weekend. -Management made me regularly take thousands of pounds in cash across the town to take to the bank- no security at all. Was told to 'put it in my handbag'. -Antisocial working hours meant I never saw my family despite living in the same house- managers are completely inflexible with hours and would regularly punish people with bad hours. -Manager would re watch the store cctv the next day to see exactly what you were doing and call you out if you took a toilet break/personal break. -If the shop was busy you wouldn't get a break for up to 12 hours because you were by yourself. -Micromanaging was a huge issue. Bosses that saw you as a robot, regularly got abusive and angry. My manager would send me threatening texts about mistakes I had made. -Had to defend the shop against shoplifters on multiple occasions without any praise for doing so. The list goes on...
