Pros

Paying well (no benefits though) - but money is not everything Remote work possible

Cons

People are being fired approx. every 2 weeks and immediately cut off from all tools after the firing call with no way to say goodbye to their team. Leadership lacks empathy and does not seem to care at all for the people behind the job. The feedback during my probation time has always been very positive until a month before its end. Within my last weeks, all responsibilities of the role I had initially been hired for were taken away from me and I was supposed to fully take on a new position that I had never worked in before, without getting any proper guidance. 2 weeks later, I got fired because they did "not see that I fit into the direction that the company is developing into". I can hardly see it going in any other direction than down.

Pros

- high pay - good tech structure so you have a big chance to learn a lot

Cons

- very demanding - worst onboarding ever - expected me to know everything in their huge project after 1 month - they didn’t want to help me grow they wanted someone who is a super developer and understand their project once they enter the company which is impossible - decided they wont continue with me because I made a poor architecture document eventhough it was my first time making one - I didnt get any warning that I will leave on day I woke up to a mail that I got removed from their repository and from all the company tools and that was how I knew I was fired until a day later when I received an email that it was a financial issue due to the war

Dear Ex-Colleague, Thank you very much for your critical feedback. I am very sorry that you had such a slightly negative experience with us. It is great to hear that you perceived Cosuno as an employer offering fair pay and an environment to learn a lot, especially in our tech teams. This is super important to us. Nevertheless, we are sorry to hear that you had a very negative experience in other areas. As a technology company, we have grown rapidly over the past year, both in the market and in terms of employees. Being this successful is only possible by being very demanding and enabling everyone to operate at their best. At Cosuno, we thrive very much on our performance-driven culture, and everyone needs to be aware of that. We have big goals that we are determined to achieve, and we are looking for team members who are comfortable working in a dynamic environment and who want to continuously develop themselves. However, we can understand that sometimes expectations can be a bit high and difficult to manage. Regarding the terminations, we agree that this was a very unfortunate situation. We are also affected by the current global economic situation. Therefore, we had to make strategic adjustments, which meant that we had to lay off staff, especially in our international teams and non-core activities. We have communicated the exact reasons for the layoffs internally with those affected, including you - and it was not "a financial issue due to the war". However, this is no exception in such a situation, as both startups and large corporations unfortunately have to lay off staff at the moment. This decision was certainly not easy for us as a people team, but also for the founders and the management team. We also lost valued colleagues. While the criticisms of the way this situation was communicated are certainly justified, unfortunately there was no other legal way to announce the layoffs (since we have employees all over Europe and the legalities in each country are very different). This is also why we offered several face-to-face meetings to each and every affected employee from the People Operations team and the founders to understand the background of our decision and to make the transition as easy as possible. We also created an Alumni Directory to help all of you find a new role as quickly as possible. Thanks anyway for your input and the implied suggestions for improvement. We are definitely not perfect and there is always room for improvement. We wish you all the best for your future and for finding a more suitable position. Your People & Culture Team

Pros

Only promisses, but nothing to achieve the job.

Cons

Poor onbaording, no management, no leading, totally abandonned ! Almost no appointment booked by SDRs, so no business and no closing. Fired after 2 months as in a US company : informed 2 hours before the HR call. Access closed during the HR call. Really a poor company... To avoid !

Dear Ex-Colleague, Thank you very much for your critical comment. I am very sorry that you had such a negative experience with us. Unfortunately, we are also affected by the current ongoing global economic situation. We have communicated the exact reasons internally with those affected. Accordingly, we had to make strategic adjustments, which meant that we had to lay off staff. However, this is no exception in such a situation, as both startups and large corporations unfortunately have to lay off staff at the moment. While the criticisms of the way this situation was communicated are certainly justified, unfortunately there was no other legal way to announce the layoffs (since we have employees all over Europe and the legal circumstances in each country are very different and complex). This is also why we offered several face-to-face meetings to each and every affected employee from the People Operations team and the founders to understand the background of our decision and to make the transition as easy as possible for all of you. This decision was not easy for us as a People team, but also for the founders and the management team. We also lost valued colleagues. Nevertheless, this should not be an excuse. We are aware that the communication at this point was not flawless and apologise once again for your negative experience. Another point I wanted to make is that you were part of the launch team for the French market. Entering a new market as a startup is never easy and always poses special challenges, including no clear processes and team members needing to have a very hands-on mentality. This is a hard environment not suitable for everyone. I still feel sorry that Cosuno seems to not have been the right company for you. Thank you for your comments and suggestions for improvement. We take your comments seriously and will continue to work on these points. We wish you all the best for the future. Your People & Culture Team
