Garbage company, garbage management.
Pros
- Everyone hated the CEO so you always had someone to complain to. - The people I worked with (except the CEO) were amazing
Cons
I was home sick (possibly with covid) and unable to even get out of bed or think straight. I wasn't able to call in until noon and by then the company owner Jay Williams went off on me about how he has never been too sick to call in and he broke his leg the day before and was still coming into work (he didn't break his leg and would constantly over exaggerate to try and win an argument.. I hate people that have to one up you). I couldn't believe what I was hearing especially since this was in the middle of the COVID epidemic and he is clearly not taking it seriously. I have never had an employer that I tell I was sick and they then get upset at me instead of asking how I am doing. It was the most unprofessional thing I have ever experienced from a boss. He actually fired me two week later (he called it a voluntary discharge but it definitely wasn't voluntary and was shoved down my throat). He said that me being sick and not calling in till noon was basically a no-call-no-show and that is why he discharged me. Super gross especially since he added stuff on the paper that was all made up but I was so done working for him I didn't care and just signed it to get the hell out of there. The company lost all of their clients and the owner placed the blame on me for not being able to meet deadlines (despite him constantly moving me from task to task and me bringing this up time and time again). So he fired me so he didn't have to pay unemployment (that is also why he added all the extra made up stuff to the discharge form). Jay Williams (the CEO) also has an Adderall addiction and more than once offered them to me (which I denied every time). His drug-use made working with him unbearable. He would constantly jump me from task to task and then get upset when one of the tasks we jumped from wasn't complete (duh). His drug addiction also made his personality constantly go up and down and he couldn't remember things to save his life. He also cannot make an appointment on time ever. Even the day I was fired he was 3 hours late coming into the office so I did work for those hours I never got paid for because he was supposed to be there to fire me as soon as I came in the door (that's right, never got paid for those 3 hours). He offered me partnership in the company but honestly I didn't want to be stuck with someone like that so I just ignored the offer. I actually put in hundreds of hours extra (for free) to try and make the company successful but in the end I couldn't make up for the CEO's mistakes. This is one of the reasons I am not too happy about being fired is because I put in so much of my free time (doing 60 hour work weeks) to try and make this thing successful and he didn't respect that at all. I highly recommend staying away from this company if you value yourself at all. The CEO (Jay Williams) has no clue how to run a company and will just continue to manipulate people to get what he wants. I was told the company could afford my salary for a year for sure and that ended up being completely false. This company will lie and manipulate their employees to get what they want. Honestly after leaving this company I feel much healthier. All the stress and anxiety I was getting there from the CEO was compromising my immune system and making me get sick. So I am a much happier person now. The only reason I took the job was because I got laid off from my previous job due to COVID. I was at home for over a month on unemployment and it just started driving me nuts. I have to do something so that is why I took this job is just so I would have something to do and keep my resume relevant. I should have spent more time looking instead of just jumping on the first offer though.
