Pros

I started out part-time and got made full-time. My immediate manager was great, but anyone with a heart gets treated like trash by the upper levels.

Cons

OMG, where should I start? These people have no loyalty and would rather hire young unsuspecting kids and pay them cheaply than support those who are actually talented and smart. I saw them fire loyal, good people who worked there over 5 years time and time again on a whim because they wanted to tweak their company budget.. There is an 'inner circle' who are Favorited. This elitist crew walk around looking down their nose at everyone else and speaking with great condescension to the hourly workers . The director is a complete heartless witch. They are big into psychological warfare, pitting the warehouse crew against the call center/office crew. The catching of one dept's mistakes by another were publicly broadcasted, rewarded and encouraged in a way that promoted shame in the department in error. People got fired every month for ridiculous reasons, you never knew who was going to be next b/c therewas just no loyalty or humane understanding - very black and white thinking. They changed their mind CONSTANTLY, would forget they said something, then fault you for following the new way - they couldn't even keep up w/ their own erratic demands. I once went to lunch and came back and there were completely new rules in place - the whole process has changed - wtf???. No practical understanding by upper management of the actual day-to-day processes or dilemmas in the depts, and would not listen either - expectations were completely delusional. They strung me along for a year with promised of a promotion, and no matter how many hoops I jumped through, it was never enough and there were always more. The 'royal family' of owners thought they were above God. They have more money than God too and are completely out of touch with the average working person's life and the problems we face. They claimed to want to hear ideas and have an open door policy, yet no one spoke up due to the negative reprocussions of possibly getting fired. I could go on and on. If you're looking for a temporary summer job, this place is ok but don't look to make a career here b/c the upper spots r all locked up and you will feel less than in six months. I could go on and on and on about the negativity here. They treat everyone like there is something inherently wrong with them if they don't subscribe to the alter-universe of the Crown way. They don't want intelligent, thinking, discerning people, just butt-kissing sheep.

Pros

Nice, young coworkers who are willing to help you out and answer questions. I literally can't think of another pro.

Cons

Horrible management. Managers are allowed to mistreat employees and play favorites. Awful Heath insurance (expensive and just not good) that solidifies the fact that the owners do not care about their employees. They dissect literally every trivial situation to the point where its just plain ridiculous. They do not acknowledge their great employees or value them at all. There is never any parking but empty manager spots up at the front door. You have to log literally every hour you work and it's frowned upon to leave on time. Lunches are a half hour for hourly employees and 45 min for salary and they act like that is normal or kind or something. Avoid working here. Just don't do it. And being that it is family owned there is little to no room for growth.

Pros

Dating employees and management is encouraged. It sounds ridiculous, but it's grossly true. Hookups in the parking lot happen...a lot.

Cons

The pay is weak. I was one of the top earners in my department and was given a raise, and it was still the least I've made in years. Also, management will get on your back about the smallest things. They treat you like a little kid. Lastly, the location is awful. There's nowhere to eat or grab coffee. It gets boring fast. And that's when the negative people start to way on you. The gossip is REAL. Crown is a blemish on my resume.
