Pros

Decent rewards package. However, if you’re looking for a job where you’re treated like an actual human being instead of an emotionless robot then please don’t fall for it. Listen to the 1* reviews on here.

Cons

In my opinion and from my own experience, this place is truly toxic. It started off great and but with the introduction of a couple of individuals it became completely about profit at the price of great customer service with ridiculous KPI’s being set for the service team that made no sense whatsoever other than for new management to try and justify their high wages, this is just my opinion of course. 😇 I believe management don’t know or understand their role or the role of the service staff. Those with mental health issues are treated lesser than at best or ridiculed in front of other members of staff at worse. My experience has been horrible, distressing and a complete waste of time. If you like call centres where numbers mean more than high quality customer care and your mental health takes a ride down the toilet due to the role changing then changing back, stupid KPIs pulled out of thin air, colleagues being sacked or suspended, deleted off systems with 0 fair warning and no goodbye then please be my guest and apply to join this circus.

Pros

Perks are same as what other startups offer so no comments on that. The best thing about the company is the service people, both old and new. The trustpilot score basically goes to them. The handful of customers that still exists are only due to the talented service team. 5/5 stars to Service Team.

Cons

Welcome to the land of perpetual micro management, where talent goes to die. If anyone is looking to join Cuckoo, prepare for workdays that stretch into oblivion, zero learning, on calls the entire shift with zero progression, work life balance is a myth here. If you are seeking appreciation and recognition, look elsehwere, as your efforts will vanish into a black hole. Feedback session often feels like tossing suggestions into bottomless bucket, they are never heard or acted upon. The only flexibility you'll experience is defo contorting yourself to meet ever changing demands which are implemented within seconds. The office culture went upside down this year. The office environment lacks the fun and charm that was in the beginning.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, it is very important to us. We agree that our service team have done an outstanding effort in supporting our customers, and we are grateful for all their contributions. Our customers and employees are always at the forefront of any decisions we make. We understand that this year has brought about a lot of changes to Cuckoo, and even though these changes are for the better, we understand that some individuals may struggle to adapt to new ways of working. Our management team is always there to support and encourage any team members who are struggling, as well as recognise and appreciate our top performers. It is important that you feel your feedback and voice are valued, because they are. We would encourage you to speak to our People Team to discuss your concerns further, so that we can provide you with all the support you require, and address your concerns properly.

Pros

Macbook and screen provided, (previously) fully remote

Cons

Constant criticism from service management for unachievable KPI's, lack of support from upper management and people team, feedback is now silenced with staff told to delete constructive feedback (where this was previously welcomed). Despite having policies in place for neurodivergent staff, this isn't adhered to anymore following the new management, and staff are basically told to leave the business as they don't want to offer any assistance. Pay discrepancies amongst the service team with both eggsperts and team leads (some pay differences as much as £10k) with no explanation as to why and staff doing the same job, with no framework in place offer guidance.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're genuinely sorry to learn that you didn't feel adequately supported during your time with the Cuckoo team. We acknowledge that you joined us earlier this year for a relatively short time and recognise that the past six months have brought about significant changes. Our commitment to inclusivity is something we take great pride in. We constantly review and refine our policies to ensure we maintain an environment that is both inclusive and welcoming. While we understand that your experience at Cuckoo has left you with negative sentiments, we want to emphasise to both our current employees and prospective team members that our approach to compensation is transparent and equitable. This principle is evident from the very beginning of your journey, as highlighted in our job adverts, and continues throughout your employment.
