I have been working at Cummins part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Very flexible work life balance - Good interesting varied work - strong safety culture - Management are constantly pushing employees to learn and develop

    Cons

    - Not the most social workplace - Things can take a long time to progress, many dead end projects

    Advice to Management

    - A stronger push for people to leave their work at lunch and be sociable? Maybe a monthly BBQ or something - More focus on meetings to ensure work is carried out in an appropriate time

I have been working at Cummins full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Fantastic culture, everyone is so kind - Amazing resource groups for all affinities, from the Women's resource group to the Asian resource group, Cummins is all about diversity and acceptance - Hard-working individuals - Flexible hours - Free fruit and often free food - Hierarchical but you can chat to any of the directors at any time - Every employee cares - Progressive business always growing - Always opportunities...

    Cons

    - Old school management from global and above the South Pacific directors board - Budgets that don't make sense - Old systems that haven't been updated - Too centralised and reliant on global - Slow and bureaucratic

    Advice to Management

Become more decentralised throughout the regions, as regions like China, South America and South Pacific tend to create their own projects under the table as global will either disapprove, or take too much control (which will render the project pointless, as the markets are much different to the US).

    I worked at Cummins full-time

    Pros

It's good that they provide internships to university students that are paid. Although I didn't see many people participate in corporate responsibility, the team did make a big effort.

    Cons

I found Cummins South Pacific to be quite a backwards work environment. The company was very male dominated and the male managers and directors seemed to be quite sexist and make lude comments about women quite publicly. It was very much a boys club. There was a lot of tension between the managers of different areas and when I spoke to HR and explained how I felt and how I was in the middle of a fight between two managers,...

    Advice to Management

It would be reat if management actually partook in the culture they preach. Hire a more diverse group of people. HR needs to actually help, or provide advice in how to deal with things.

A culture of bullying by management. No ethics.
