I have been working at Cundall full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people! Cundall seems to attract nice friendly people that you enjoy working with.

    Cons

It is hard maybe benefits such as maternity could be better but the standard they have is a similar level to others in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Keep employing the people you look forward to seeing on a Monday!

    Pros

    - Great projects.
    - Great staff and culture.
    - Casual dress code and relaxed atmosphere.
    - Flexible work environment
    - Great management team, provides great support when required.
    - Management team is open minded and able to accept comments/feedback.
    - Encourages learning.
    - Good work/life balance.
    - No politics
    - Opportunities for relocation

    Cons

    - Global IT system is inefficient despite spending a high % of time and money improving it according to the partners.
    - Lack of global structure on certain things such as report format, modelling, QA, quarterly reviews (seems to be different depends on the office location), etc.
    - Pay is below average in the market.

    Advice to Management

    1. Improvement transparency of the management team i.e. what is the hierarchy of the partners in Cundall, especially when there are multiple partners in an office.
    2. Develop a global standard and enforce it - at the moment seems to be different depending on where you work.

I have been working at Cundall full-time

    Pros

Good atmosphere and management are easy to talk to and are open to ideas. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

Understaffed at times meaning you have to cope with various projects and timescales, but that isn't any different from most companies these days.

    Advice to Management

Better training for graduates, more open to bringing in contractor's at busy times to ease pressure on engineer's.

I worked at Cundall full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great projects, great staff, fun atmosphere, relaxed dress code, encourages learning

    Cons

Work can be not very rewarding at times when you don't get to see your recommendations through to construction. Only offer design advice, but don't get to actually do the final design in some cases. Working on achieving Green star ratings is a living nightmare. Green Star ratings are not challenging and requires lots of very mundane paper work.

    Advice to Management

Add some more structure to your training program for new grads. They are sometimes lost in the fray.

    Pros

    Extensive software library
    WELL office

    Cons

Minimal exposure to REVIT for Engineers
Lack of provision for home working
Engineers tend to be in machine room environment, dealing with mainly calculations and production lack of insight into design team and client meetings
    Skype messaging

    Advice to Management

Perhaps try to integrate REVIT operations into engineers responsibilities to broaden their expertise
