I worked at Cuscal full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Smart people but also great peer groups, interesting work, ability to input into the strategy. Relatively small and agile ; so change and development can be faster than big banks

    Cons

Executive team politics, communication across the business was not consistent , more empowerment to direct reports, some decisions made were ‘ personal’, not i Made in the best interests of customer employees

I have been working at Cuscal full-time

    Pros

People are great, the culture presents as fun and I think managers genuinely try and make the atmosphere uplifting.

    Cons

There is no real direction or structure. Security procedures are lacking and the training is all over the shop, it was mostly a figure it out when you're doing it approach. Shifts and breaks are timed to the second which can get a little overbearing.

I worked at Cuscal full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

At a team level. The team were fantastic some of the best people ive ever met or worked with.

    Cons

Ive never seen a team self destruct as quick as wat the team did. after hiring a new manager who talked down to people, talked to people with utter disrespect and had no people skills at all. Grade of service dropped from 75% to 15% for months. The roster was changed not to suit the workload at all, leaving sometimes 3 people on dayshift and 10 on afternoons even though the majority of calls were before 3pm. I Was bullied/threatened into leaving as she did not my style of supervision and did not like the fact that we all got along. And i wasnt the only 1. Saw the writing on the wall once i escalated her behavior only to be told it was my fault.... by her manager. I was the 8th person to leave the team in 6 months with everyone leaving the same feedback. But still nothing was done. To the point no one wanted to come to work anymore and had to get out. Im happier now ive left alot better team manager who listens and always has time for you. Money was pretty bad too considering you were expected to do the managers role as well as your own. With no recognition. 20 plus yrs ive worked in the industry and must say ive never come across a worst leader in my life.

    I worked at Cuscal full-time

    Pros

A lot of varied work to do and learning opportunities with all the Cuscal varied products, which serves as a stepping stone for another organisation.

    Cons

Complete overhaul of the management team under the CEO and their direct reports lead to a highly toxic environment with no clear startegic. People were burner out for working long hours and not rewarded. Staff were punished if they did not follow the yes culture. Fullfilling female in leadership quotas was more important than ensuring appropriately capability people were appointed. Seeded with a lot of incompetence, so more pressure was put on the competence. HR was about ensuring the way leaders behave was just above the law that the company would avoid employee grievances.

    I worked at Cuscal full-time

    Pros

Employees are friendly and helpful for newcomers.

    Cons

Higher management do not provide growth or development opportunities to low-level employees. Minimal support from higher management, and often was compared to other employees. Team had a 'you're on your own' attitude.
