Toxic environment, steer clear!

Pros

A billion dollar startup with lots of potential for future growth.

Cons

Lack of strategy, communication, transparency, a full-on presence of nepotism, and a blurred executive vision is creating a toxic atmosphere and environment to work in. Many leadership positions are being filled or replaced by legacy Terremark leadership. There are many empty suits, who's dictionary consists of many business buzzwords, yet lack the crucial skill of formulating a definitive executable strategy. The company is still in its infancy with much potential, but if the current leadership doesn't change its ways, this company is destined for failure in generating the forecasted revenue targets, as well as retaining some of their best employees.

Money Over Morals

Pros

Although we heard nothing from executive management about the safety, security and reinvestment of our people and product lines after a sloppy and thoughtless "integration," we did receive a $100 credit for the new "merch" store.

Cons

Cutting off your employee's oxygen supply is not the best way to gain the trust of your organization. Cyxtera embodies a culture of finger pointing, poor metrics, and ignorance. The disjointed marketing information, lack of training, poor leadership and reactive approach is a recipe for disaster. How long do you think the smoke and mirrors trick will last?

Pros

Good Employees, decent health care and retirement options

Cons

Cyxtera has just laid off so many employees the service has suffered to the point of stupidity. How can they lay off employees and try to hire less knowledgeable staff for half the price and expect the same service to be given to clients. For example data centers that were once staffed round the clock are now staffed by a couple of people that have to be called in and we're told not to let the customers know because our website says 24/7 protection. It's a regular occurrence to wait 5 hours for repairs and clients as well as the employees left are starting to leave. Think about how idiotic management is that they let go the thing that was making the company valuable, their skilled round the clock employees. It’s almost as if they want to increase stock price momentarily by letting the bulk of their staff go. But in something as important as data protection you need on the clock professional workers. Slimey moves like cutting the agreed upon severance and laying off other shifts only to make the few left constantly on call workers has made this company hell to work for.
