Consulting in one of the most in-demand business areas
Pros
- I like the good mix between technical hands-on work (programming in python/SQL/pyspark, creating dashboards in Power BI/Tableau, configuring could infrastructure) and the consulting aspect (understanding the client's needs, thinking - not just executing, presenting). - D ONE gives you a lot of opportunity to learn new skills, do trainings and certifications. - Highly motivated and supportive team. - Compensation is very competitive
Cons
D ONE itself is a small company with around 100 employees. Hierarchies are flat and employees get a lot of freedom. However, the clients are sometimes the exact opposite. Highly hierarchical companies, where your job often also involves politics and patience. And as a consultant you spend a lot of time with such clients. Also, you might not always get the most exciting assignments, which you are then stuck with for some time. (I have seen some new joiners struggle with this - especially those coming straight from university.)
