This organization operates in an extremely tops-down fashion, meaning lower-level employees are expected to do as they are told with no associated dialogue. This style is not always ineffective, but in this case it is due to a constant lack of clarity, context, and a track record of outright unprofitable tops-down decisions.
Moreover, I had a very insecure, unfavorable and unprofessional manager. Even after about a year at the company, my manager would simply come and tell me to execute stuff as he instructed instead of including me in the conversation, having a dialogue, or discussing with me why we were doing what we were doing. Eventually I stopped asking him, because asking him was always a pain, either he will ignore my questions, or blatantly look around instead of answering me.
I wasn't properly trained, rather always told stuff to do. It finally is driving me to a resignation now!
Employees are looked at as disposable minions and are not developed, mentored, or coached properly. Future career paths and career growth within the company are not discussed - what motivation is there for employees to produce?
