Pros

They paid on time except...

Cons

....when they don't pay at all, then they lie/evade explaining about their taxes paid, until you started getting legally correct on them and demanding they start sending the correct documents as issued by the tax authorities. Dodgy company, not transparent, and dumb "Senior" staff.

Darwin Recruitment Response

At Darwin, we would like to challenge this review. We operate compliantly within every region in which we recruit, and endeavour to pay all contractors within our agreed payment terms. In the unlikely situation that time worked is disputed, we will, in a timely fashion, conduct further investigations to resolve the dispute, which may delay payment. Our highly trained staff can provide extensive advice around the financial options available to our contractors, but are unable to provide specific tax instruction as each contractor’s personal circumstances differ.

Seems a good place to work if you know what you what to expect.

Pros

They want to invest in young talent and train them up to be experts in their field. The guy they have doing the training is excellent and is able to present the vast amount of information you need to absorb in a manner that is largely successful. The team seem very tight and had good working relationships with each other. Some good incentives to be a top performer. If you are good at sales and competitive you could thrive in this environment

Cons

Biggest gripe would be that when they tell you they do not "Hire and Fire" they aren't being strictly honest. They have a recruitment day nearly every other week which normally result in two or more hires. The official line is that they are fast growing, when in truth they usually loose a few early on, either through people not coming back one day or Darwin terminating contracts. Whilst I agree if you haven't got what it takes then Darwin can't be blamed, however the company present themselves as a nurturing place that allows you to grow and will coach you, which I never saw beyond the initial training session. Also there is not much "Consultancy" in the roles at Darwin. It is more often trying to sell a candidate you have never actually met to a hiring manager over the phone.

Pros

Nice break room , helped with buying lunches after Christmas, some good people there

Cons

Where do i start Team leader with no clue of how to lead or get the best out of someone let alone guide them to making the correct choices of the day to day things a recruiter does. was more interested in the young girl next to him and how to take her out. Texting whilst on a client teams call in front of the client. If you are not a friend to senior management you have less chance of succeeding , and very rarely spoken to see how you getting on . within 7 months i changed vertical 5 times so no chance to really give anything a good go . When i left it was a mutual agreement that it wasn't the right position for me due to the young culture and myself being an adult (which i completely agreed) 1 week later i received the letter of termination saying poor behaviour and attitude ( I only wished I had record the meeting of us agreeing mutually parting ways. overall a very bad experience at Darwin and to which i am now finding out they have a bad reputation within there industry
