Pros

The ability to work remotely is the major benefit of Data Action and likely a key reason why many employees choose to stay. Remuneration is reasonably competitive for the Adelaide market. While not exceptional, at least people are no longer underpaid like a few years ago.

Cons

The overall management at Data Action leaves much to be desired. Many managers and Leads have their roles and titles based on personal connections and are not suited for the positions they hold. Project Managers at Data Action are abysmal. They provide unnecessary noise and complications to projects and only seem to hinder other employees and outcomes. There is not much culture to speak of at Data Action Unless you are part of the managers with rose-tinted glasses, the overall culture is elusive. The major problem at Data Action is the prevalence of employees doing the bare minimum, placing extra workload and stress on the talented and/or passionate employees. This leads to burnout and dislike for the job and ultimately makes good people leave the company. There is nothing done about underperforming employees who sit around and collect a paycheck. Organisational change seems to always be going on, ranging from new leadership structures, platforms, tools, to processes. While this may appear positive during your initial year, it becomes apparent that the situation doesn't improve over time. The cycle seems to revolve in circles, with changes never fully or properly implemented. Instead, they lead to unnecessary work and learning, only to find that the implemented changes become redundant within another six months. The cycle repeats again and again.

Pros

Pays at market rate. Good hybrid/remote work balance. Generally your team members will treat you well. Has some amazing personalities and talented individuals. If you are looking for a job that will have stability then this is a great place to work.

Cons

If you are looking to make an impact then run away as far as you can. DA will find a way to demotivate you or any talented/smart engineers that landed a job at the company just to be crushed with utter dissapointment when they realised that their time is spent most on repeating the same words and pointless tasks over and over again. Old sacred ancient processes, highly risk-aversed, mountain of overpromises and thick long red-tapes attached everywhere in the company. Company's future vision is limited, unimaginative and frankly just plain boring.

Pros

Most of the people you work with are fabulous. If you like being busy, there's plenty to do. Pay is industry standard

Cons

New Senior Management Line up are focussed on themselves and keeping their jobs with no care or consideration for the people who make them look good.
