Abandon ship

Pros

Some of the people are great, but everything is changing for the worse. Not much else to say.

Cons

The company is a mess. The new CEO Ed Pedrick fired a bunch of people, he openly talks about how the independent sales reps can be replaced, and he admitted to asking ChatGPT for help because he doesn't even know basic business strategy, especially for the furniture industry.

This company takes care of you. They understand that family comes first and are flexible enough that you can take care of your family

Cons

Being a smaller company, they are understaffed which means more pressure on the employees

Sinking Ship

Pros

If you live in or near Boonton, the commute is incredibly easy.

Cons

Avoid working here at all costs, the ship is sinking fast. Dauphin is under pressure from its German parent company after a large exodus of important employees. The outlook is grim for the company, I would be surprised if it isn't shut down by the end of 2025. Dauphin is currently running a skeleton crew, and barely able to get things done and cutting corners the entire way. Depending on what department you are in, you will either have no work to do and get yelled at for it, or be over worked, propped up by unrealistic expectations. People have either been at the company for 10+ years or less than 2, and it shows. The people who have been there a while don't care, as they are friends with senior management and know their jobs are safe, meanwhile every new hire is worked ragged to pick up the slack. Departments that used to have 3-5 people now only have 1-2, and they rarely have the support of senior management. All that extra work is not rewarded. If you are not in the C-Suite, it is common knowledge you are underpaid. All positions in Dauphin are well below market averages, and there were no raises in the last three years. Having been in touch with people who have left in the last year, they all got 25% or more pay bumps from leaving. If it hasn't been made clear yet, senior management are incompetent. When one of the big wigs from the German parent company came to visit in an effort to figure out what was happening the senior management threw tantrums like toddlers. They went from blaming every person who has left the company in the last few years, to even blaming the recently hired marketing director and COO. They were unable to take any accountability for their actions that has led to both a significant decrease in revenue, and high turnover rates. Theses actions go as far as to ask an employee to leave before their given two weeks notice was up because the German parent company was coming to visit. The American leadership wanted to make sure Germany wouldn't have the opportunity to talk to the departing employee, who was apparently in charge of a major project. While the culture is not the worst I have encountered, it is definitely not the best. Be prepared for underhanded and veiled racist comments about coworkers, and quite a bit of talk about politics. The amount of gossip in this workplace is staggering, from being nosy and Facebook/LinkedIn stalking of both current and former employees, to out right bad-mouthing employees who still work there but have moved departments. At this point I wish I had something positive to say, however the business outlook also looks incredibly bleak. The products Dauphin ships are alright at best; however, they are priced to compete with other companies that simply make much better products for better prices. They have seen several regular customers go to competitors due to better pricing, products, and warranty success. If it were not for the timely and domestic customer service team, I would doubt that many customers would order from Dauphin a second time. Dauphin is also consistently behind the market trends for new product releases, allowing competitors to gain market share before Dauphin can even think of competing. As a simple example, only this year has Dauphin introduced fully fledged curved lounge seating, while competitors have had solutions available for 3+ years. While I could likely continue; however, the simple fact is that I believe Dauphin is a sinking ship, as do many people who have recently left. I ask you please head this warning and think twice before working for Dauphin.
