Pros

Adequate training was provided to perform the job. Great team environment. I loved and still do love my ex co-workers! Parties were great and if your production was over a certain number you were awarded with company trips. Hours were 8-5 Mon-Fri, rarely did stay later than that.

Cons

High stress environment. With unrealistic goals and metrics to be met. Commission structure was very lucrative, however base was very low. Worked there for 2+ years and never got a raise.

Pros

Deacon is very structured, with a clear path, and expectations for performance. They provide intense training generally that prepares you somewhat for the job. Everyone is very friendly, overall a great group of individuals to work with. The company also coordinates a lot of fun events and contest. Compensation for a successful recruiter can be very lucrative.

Cons

While they have great structure, it's the way they've done things for 20 years. There's no real strategy to the sales effort, it's all based on call volume. Cold-calling candidates, as well as, employers, and see what sticks. You must fit into the box to succeed in this environment. ETO (Earned Time Off) was very poor, with their structure its hard to see how you could really achieve any balance.

Pros

Friendly staff who work hard and like to have fun. You will learn a lot about the different sides of recruiting, sales and marketing, and receive awesome monthly training.

Cons

The owner's sporadic attitude and frankly rude comments. They are always hiring because of the internal turnover of recruiters. You are expected to work until you 'cover' a job, which I believe is normal in this executive style of recruiting. If you're not ready to stay late or work on the weekends this isn't for you. You are competing directly from scratch with Directors who have a pipeline of people and know clients well, so continuous commission will be hard to achieve. Very stressful job.
