Not a great place to work

Pros

Good reputation in the home health industry. Parent organization (UCG) provides perks such as a daily fruit cart to the office, bagels once a week and occasional pancake breakfasts and pizza lunches, baseball games. Work environment is open desks and casual. Open leave means no set limits on vacation and sick time.

Cons

Staff is overworked and given much more than can reasonably be handled, then when things go wrong there is finger-pointing and blame. Business systems and procedures are supposedly being upgraded and improved, but there is a lot of chaos and frustration in the process. Senior management says they are concerned about employees but they demand more work and better results with no additional resources.

Company Has Issues; May be Able to Turn Around

Pros

Young, casual atmosphere with good people; Lot of responsibility and credit for good work

Cons

Quality of managers varies; some are not very good. The publishing industry continues to change and DecisionHealth is always playing catch up. They are struggling to remain relevant in an online publishing environment.

Toxic

Pros

Nice coworkers. Smart people that you can get along with well. Good benefits.

Cons

Company seems to have no direction, and the turnover rate reflects that. Very poor communications from all groups starting from the top. A lot of finger pointing, so when something goes wrong others use it as leverage against you--it was not always like that, you used to be able to trust your colleagues and be able to work things out amicably and constructively.
