I’ve worked at the big corporate establishments and although they have their own set of pros and cons…what I love most about Deck is the smaller team. Having the ability to CC the CEO on something and get an answer set in stone, same day, that’s truly an underrated pro. Since the workforce reduction, things have been extremely focused, the direction is clear and concise. I know that may sound insensitive to the wonderful people who lost their jobs, but sometimes unfavorable acts have to be done to continue building a business. Not the popular answer but none the less, factual. Jackie Breen is a powerhouse at Deck, she displays some of the most attractive leadership qualities someone can have. Having Jackie as a resource is a major pro, the amount I’ve learned from her is astronomical. A lot of businesses claim to be “flexible WFH” but Deck truly embodies that statement. I’ve worked the corporate WFH roles that claim to be “flexible” and are the exact opposite. I’ve experienced zero pressure to produce when I am OOO or have something come up. Salary is super competitive/above industry standard. I was seriously impressed when they met my salary request without batting an eye.

Today, I'm celebrating my 9 year anniversary with Deck Commerce. As a person in tech, the traditional way to get ahead financially and professionally is to switch jobs every few years. This company is the opposite of that. I've been treated more than fairly financial and professionally generally without asking. Hard work and focus in rewarded as it should be anywhere. --Hogan Haake
