headquarters was in another state, manager at the end was horrible, and company was out of touch with what normal wine drinkers wanted.

CEO boasts about his wealth to the employees, instead of meeting them individually / building connections. Also, plain out said he doesn't care what your goals are outside of the company and to primarily focus on wine. Expected to pay as an employee to take further wine courses. No commission base, no tip system, and huge disconnect between corporate and employees, therefore I felt no inclination to further my knowledge for someone else's reward.
