-The ability to become a mini-expert on a new topic every month. I really enjoyed the research aspect of the job, and now know a lot about various military topics. -Creative freedom. Producers are given a topic and suggestions on how to plan an event around it, but we decide who to invite and what to invite them to speak on. -Travel. Getting to travel once a month is fun, and getting to see the event you produced is very rewarding. -Meeting lots of smart and interesting people. Going to the events you produced and getting to meet the military leaders, government officials, scientists, and experts that you've been speaking to for months is awesome. Nice networking opportunities. -Profit share from events. It's not a huge amount but is a nice bonus, especially when you produce an event that does really well. -Good office culture. People and managers are friendly and there's a good team atmosphere. Management works hard to create a fun dynamic--quarterly outings like baseball games, escape rooms, bowling, etc. add to a good team spirit. -Managers easy to access. The team is small, and the managers are always around and easy to talk to. I've had jobs where my manager is more of an idea than a person, but the managers here are present and involved. -Set hours and very little overtime required. Gives you a lot of time for your life outside of work, and managers do not expect you to check emails or respond to calls outside of work hours unless you are on-site at an event or traveling for work.

- A small company with big growth potential. I feel as if there is a plan for every employee moving forward to grow with the company. - Management does a good job of providing the instruction needed to succeed while allowing the autonomy to develop skills on your own. No micromanaging here. - Speaking to the last two points, employees are afforded the opportunity to make their mark and offer their unique skills. Because it is a small company, people wear many hats. - Fair salaries and above-average health insurance. - Working at a company that deals with the defense industry may sound like it could ruffle some feathers, but everyone here is respectful of each other. - Summer Fridays and breakfast Fridays are nice perks. - No one is asked to work crazy hours. Seldom have I needed to stay longer than 30 minutes past closing. You can (almost always) leave your work at work. - Occasional travel to DC and a few other locations for events. No mandatory travel for marketing, but you can sometimes if you want. (Production travels to their events.)
