Pros

Great to work with people from different countries.

Cons

The CEO of this company is an absolute narcissist and has an alarming lack of empathy for the people that work at the company. She has the delusion that she is a peer to Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos but is remarkably immature and reckless with her company and her staff. At an all staff meeting she berated staff members for having the time to read books or watch Netflix on their free time when they could be working. Environment is highly sexualized and inappropriate. There is no such thing as work/life balance at DefinedCrowd and thus employees are overstressed and overworked. Although HR does their best to create a positive culture, the CEO steps in just as quickly to sabotage their efforts. The company is always in a complete tailspin and it’s often iffy if the product they are selling even exists. Empty product promises and an insane lack of leadership from the CEO will likely be the undoing of this company.

Pros

- Above Average Salary. - Young employee base. - Laid back work environment and generaly good people. - From afar looks like its a very empathic company with good values.

Cons

- Management is sly and unsuportive. - Unbalanced teams across departments. - Extremely unorganised. - Crazy CEO with a huge Napoleon complex (no wonder you will find more information on her than the company/product online). - Shady work ethics - You will often ask yourself "is this legal?". - Focus is to sell, regardless of providing a good enough product, which will be very frustating for more thorough people. - You will often feel that a lot of people are redundant and/or have no idea what they are doing or what their job is. - As most tech companies is trying to become a Cult. - The amount of time people spend on useless calls/meetings that could have been an email is very above average. Its very hard for Employees to get anything done.

Lack of accountability, starting at the top

Pros

-Interesting experience with fast-paced startup growth -Opportunity to work directly with people from across the world

Cons

-More focused on growth and revenue (impressing investors) than employee experience: though it was very often mentioned the "excellent career development opportunities" available within the company, no systems ever established to create pathways for this development. No system for performance reviews was ever established/implemented during my tenure at DefinedCrowd. -Lack of accountability in leadership team decisions: employees have little to no ability to provide feedback on questionable leadership team actions and decisions. The few times feedback was requested, it was never acted on, and the issues persisted. -As others have mentioned, sales team was often directed to say "yes" to all contracts, regardless of DefinedCrowd's capacity or ability to execute the project successfully. This often lead to employees doing work well outside of the scope of their assumed responsibilities. -CEO/Leadership team will celebrate the successes of the company in front of employees, rather than alongside them.
