Pros
Serving experience to add to your resume
Cons
The restaurant says that it values its employees but requires way too much work for the pay you are receiving. You have to take a 20 page test that includes the ingredients for every item on the menu. You also have to memorize all of the allergies and be able to immediately recite them at the tables. Although this isn't odd for a restaurant, the pay does not match the level of work and memorization required. Instead of actually paying their staff an adequate amount, they only pay their server assistants $4 an hour and require that the servers tip out 22% of their tips. For a menu this expensive and the amount of knowledge required to even get on the floor, the money taken in is not worth it. It was highly frustrating to be promised that all of my studying and work would pay off and then finally get on the floor to only receive three table sections and very little pay. Even on days that I made a lot of money, taxes and tip-out made it so that I only took home a little over half of the tips that I worked so hard to make.
