Pros

Fast moving, innovative and exciting work with incredible people with lofty goals; work is often interesting and can be very fulfilling.

Cons

Leadership is a bit of a boys’ club (probably as a result of the predominance of finance backgrounds). Management only seems to recognize the contributions of men as valuable. Women don’t seem to be promoted or considered for leadership roles based on their contributions within the parent company but rather seem marginalized and ignored in favor of executives who seem to favor giving the appearance of productivity over actually generating profit; potential synergies within the company of product and service lines seem to be disregarded or ignored if the contribution comes from a team predominantly composed of women (except the China team who may be the exception that proves the rule due to the proactiveness of their leader, whose team is coincidentally all women at HQ) despite being a substantial proportion of employees overall. Executives and senior positions are mostly hired from outside rather than internal promotions and , resulting in demoralized individuals who feel unrecognized. It’s a pity because it’s a company that knows how to pick out and hire excellent talent but doesn’t seem to know how to foster it beyond for the already-privileged few.

We have reviewed your comment and want to ensure you that we hold the subject matter of your observations in the highest regard. Delos is a company that prides itself on providing growth opportunities for our employees based on merit, achievement and potential, and not on gender, race or any other factor. Perhaps it would be helpful to share some metrics: - Delos’ employee population is 57% female to 43% male. - In leadership positions, defined as VP and higher, the percentage of women is higher at 63% vs. 37% male. - At the Senior Vice President level, 58% are women and 42% are men. - In the past two years, 12 women have been promoted to Vice President, 5 have been promoted to Senior Vice President, and 2 have been promoted to the Executive Team. - The Female average salary is actually 14% higher than the comparable male salary at like positions. Again this particular metric, along with all of the measures described above, is based on merit, achievement and potential. - Finally, females in senior positions with the company average 3.64 direct reports as opposed to the males in comparable roles averaging 2.29 direct reports, which is an important measure of responsibility and leadership. As an organization we strive to fill every seat with the most qualified individuals. Our women in leadership positions are fantastic producers and leaders, and we hold their contribution in the highest regard. We realize that these facts, while they certainly show no gender bias, cannot serve to replace what seems like a much needed conversation, and to that end we encourage you to please reach out to Human Resources or a trusted member of the Executive Team to discuss your concerns and thoughts. We are always open to new ways to make our people feel valued and look forward to hopefully discussing your thoughts with you soon. Thank you.

Pros

Many of the people who work at Delos are incredible. They are passionate about wellness and bring deep subject matter expertise to the table, ranging from public health topics to building science engineering.

Cons

If Delos really wants to focus on wellness they should spend less time on organic snacks and more time on removing toxic or mediocre leaders. There are too many executives brainstorming and too few employees tasked with executing.

Pros

The pay is good but you quickly learn that money isn't everything.

Cons

The culture is toxic. There are some bad people in leadership positions who are enabled to perpetuate a negative environment of bullying. When they are questioned, they resort to extremely unprofessional behavior that sabotages the productiveness of the company. Executive management is aware and yet does not discourage the activity. The wall street mentality is very much present. Wellness is not the true interest. If you want to join a company that is concerned with doing some good, look elsewhere. This is more about ego and making some quick cash for a very select few - IF we can get our act together.
