Pros

I had to think hard about this and i honestly would have to say no possible benefits to working for this company. Many people have mentioned free lunch, however i would have to disagree because it not much better than what we used to get for school dinners. IT support is a wonderful team!

Cons

People- Management is shambolic with power at the forefront of peoples' mind. You will survive this company if you know how to be teachers pet and make fake smiles with management. For such a small company (40+ people approx.) there is no efficient communication amongst staff. Simple emails are taken out of proportion and staff cannot work with clients within NHS England without something going wrong. Management have no idea how to manage a project. PAY- they pay way below the average. The money does not cover what is expected of you. CAREER PROGRESSION- be prepared to be in the same role for more than a year. Management will only promote you if they feel they like you. Many people are at the same rate when they started. Look over your contracts, there is a possible clause which binds you to company for 2 YEARS, so if you find a new (better) position you would need to give 2 months notice!!! WORKLOAD- If on the sales/projects team be prepared to out in 100% and receive 1% back from the company or management. You will be overworked with no support. At times it can be very boring and not much goes on. Finally be aware that the smallest things can be taken out of context. And one friendly advice PLEASE DO NOT WORK THERE AS IT WILL CRUSH YOU.

Please note there is no clause in Dictate IT employment contracts that binds any employee to the company for 2 years. Depending on the nature of your role the standard notice period is either 1 or 2 months. Thank you again for your review and we wish you all the best in the future.

Pros

There is none. Apart from the people who do the SAME job as you are can actually understand the struggle you go through.

Cons

This is going to be long but it’s important to address. I worked at dictate for nearly a year, probably the worst year, but carried on till I found something better. 1) THERE IS NO CAREER PROGRESSION NONE. Management will try to do their best to keep you in the same position because there’s always a high staff turn over. I have seen some individuals apply for roles internally that have been good candidates, rejected only to let external staff in who have no knowledge of the company whatsoever. (This is how you lose good staff) 2. Management- APPALLING! I actually don’t understand how they have been employed in the first place. As a manager it’s important to understand any issues concerns your employees raise. In my case it felt like I was speaking to a brick wall. Issues that are raised are never resolved. Management is actually petty, never wants to accept when they’re wrong,Likes to display authority. Disorganised, staff ratios in each trust is ridiculous. 3. Overworked/drained with no real recognition. A bonus is given every three months. It may sound appealing but the its impossible to get the whole amount, as the criteria needed to meet it is actually stupid. Hard work effort is never seen! You can do amazing numbers but the minute you’ve made a mistake management will make sure you take the blame. 4. Staff are devalued, made to feel like robots. If you are working in the managed service department you’re basically a ‘slave’ and expected to produce ridiculous numbers. 5) NO WINDOWS- Be prepared to sit in a box with no ventilation, you’re basically sitting inside a box within a box. 6) Favouritism!!!! 7) Treated like children- this is actually ridiculous, we’re all adults in the room telling an grown individual when they can and can’t have a break is practically stupid. I’ve heard some people asking if they can go to the toilet :) you’re unable to breathe in that room. If your out of that room longer then a second the management will huff and puff and be down your neck. Managers shouting at certain employees- this is not okay 8) Staff fighting to to to get a heater in the winter- constantly regulating the room temp, staff working in there coats ??Having to fight for a basic human right ???? At this point I’m thinking do I even need to say anymore. 9-)Let’s talk about pay- 18000 annually for me to become mentally unstable ??? Definitely Not okay. For the numbers and work we produce 18000 is not enough. 9) Software and systems have a glitch almost every second.

Pros

-Free Lunch (Wouldn't say its a pro , as the food is worse than free school meals. They serve tinned food and uncooked chips etc..). Employee often chose to purchase lunch elsewhere.

Cons

-Very Poor Management. -Unorganised Company from top to bottom. -Lack of Progression within company. -Lack of Good Training. -Poor retention of staff -Intimidating Director.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience at Dictate IT. I am sorry that you were not happy with the quality of the daily free lunch at Dictate IT. A benefit of of working at the head office is that we offer a free daily lunch prepared by a chef in our canteen. The menu changes daily and there is a choice of the Chef’s hot dish or soup and salad. While we work hard to cater to all employees with daily meat and vegetarian dishes we appreciate these options might not suit everyone’s tastes. It is Dictate IT’s policy to promote from within the organization whenever possible. Over the past 12 months we have posted 10 role vacancies internally and promoted 16 existing employees into these roles along with others within the company. I can assure you the HR department along with senior management take on all feedback as the organisation strives for continual improvement in all areas of the business. Thank you again for your feedback. We wish you all the best for your future.
