Pros

- Easy job - Okay pay - Most coworkers are fun and easy to get along with

Cons

Part time is on call. Management tells you they will call you by 10 am or so if they need you to come in. They rarely called me by then. I would get a call at 1 pm asking me to come in at 2 pm. Most times this happened I would be out of town or unable to make it in on that time. If you refuse to come in for literally any reason, it is counted against you. I had reported the most bugs on my team. That was overlooked and I was fired without notice. When hired, you are given the illusion of a laid back work environment. DO NOT BE FOOLED. Unless you are a member of management, they will look for a reason to fire you. Full time workers, too. Some are even given mandatory overtime, something that is not mentioned during the hiring process. They wonder why they are constantly losing workers.

Pros

Clients are pretty nice and value us more.

Cons

- NO PTO, only unpaid time off. - No flexibility with hours. - No proper training. - Little support from management - No growth opportunities When a tech company pays you significantly lower than other retail companies, this is a problem. If you have a CS degree or working towards one, it may be tempting to just jump into it so you can "get your foot in the door", but you are better off finding experience elsewhere that will pay you more and teach you more. The benefits are pretty bad. You will not get any PTO, only unpaid time off. This is very hilarious because this basically forces people not to take any time off because you will not get paid if you do, where retail companies actually offer it. For a "tech" company most management should know more and be trained to do the work that you're doing. But a lot of the "management" seems to be proud of not wanting to learn how to program since they seem to be gearing towards shifting automation testing. So there is no mentorship and guidance for new hires and people end up quitting really quick. BTW the turnover rate is pretty high. Upper management can be very overbearing.

Pros

Easy to make friends with co-workers Relaxed work environment Enjoyable Work Skill-set that will stay with me my entire life

Cons

Those friends get fired, constantly surrounded by new faces. It is NOT a relaxed work environment. When Jeremy gets it in his mind to fire you, your manager is CONSTANTLY keeping tabs on you until they feel they can legally terminate you without retaliation. You begin to enjoy your work and have pride for it, and then they move you somewhere else because someone with seniority (management) wants your job.
