The management at the company tends to pair employees with toxic personalities, particularly within supervisory roles. This resulted in an environment that deteriorated, becoming unprofessional, unethical, and toxic, primarily due to the actions of one person—the head of the superintendent.
The leadership in the San Jose office, specifically within some practice teams, displayed extreme shortsightedness and was filled with nonsense. In my case, I was laid off immediately after completing a project, with the reason being a poor economy. What troubled me further was the retention of another project engineer whose father holds a senior position within the company. I personally believe this individual was not well-suited for the job, highlighting a clear example of nepotism and favoritism within the organization.
Adding to the challenges, the company issued final checks that bounced, and I did not receive the owed payment until four months later. Such financial uncertainties only compounded my overall dissatisfaction with the company.
The leadership didn't chase any work for 1 year and due to market slowdown 2 projects got shut down and suddenly they were out of projects. There was no proper planning from the leadership.
I strongly advise against considering the South Bay Office as a viable workplace option. I wish I had never wasted my 1.5 years with such company!
