- Leadership is not supportive of staff and do not have proper supervision/management skills. If you share that you are feeling overwhelmed or need support with a case they will tell you to rethink if this job is for since you “can’t handle it.” Feedback is not allowed when it comes to leadership.
- Lack of clarity surrounding protocol and policies. Things are often made up on the spot and not shared with all staff, leaving folks very confused and without something to fall back on.
- Many staff members are openly racist/homophobic/classist and make rude comments about clients. Lots of people have a deep savior complex and it can be difficult to be around if you are socially aware.
- The worst employees are heavily coddled while the best employees are asked to do more to make up for what the bad employees can’t do.
- No room for advancement at all.
