Beware management

Pros

There are plenty of clients

Cons

The management team is awful. The owner is extremely FAKE nice, she really strikes me as the mean girl type. The other people in management are unresponsive or don't listen. I was in a very scary security situation at a home I was doing an overnight at, and they completely blew me off and diminished the situation. They essentially told me to shut up and do my job. Later the owner texted me and just said the situation had been taken care of. No apology, no acknowledgement that I had been right and done the right thing by alerting them, no concern for my safety or that I had been scared and uncomfortable. Not even a phone call! There were many terrible situations with the management but that was by far the worst and most infuriating. The pay is also awful, you are making less than half of what independent contractors used to make per hour, plus taxes are taken out on top of it. NOT WORTH IT. Go solo or find a company that pays you well.

Pros

The dogs are wonderful! It is so fun working with the different dogs.

Cons

You'll never meet half the people you communicate with. They care more about their clients and do not care at all about employees. They have one email address for all admin staff. It is hard to ever even talk to someone on the phone

Poor company to work for

Pros

Working with the pets! It's really fun.

Cons

Doodlebug is not well saturated in areas so you drive far too much with no pay for that time between sits. Also, you are only paid for sits completed so if something goes wrong on a sit that is not your fault (ex. you can't get in the home because the garage doesn't work or no lock box is left out) you are not paid for your time. You may also be asked to pick up keys with no pay for your time. Also, the owner is very standoffish and rude. She does not stand behind her employees. I got very sick on the job one day (out of my entire year of working for them) and at first I was told I could have some time off; to also have time to go to the doctors to see what was going on. Just two days later I was terminated and blamed simply because the client thought it was too much. But it was not my fault. It turns out I had a non cancerous brain tumor. It was a rough time and I was treated terribly by Elizabeth. She told me I don't seem to understand that my choices that day were my fault. It is NOT MY FAULT I got sick. And they handled the client horribly, which is probably really why they lost this client I had been servicing successfully for a year already.
