Poor Execution, Boundless Potential

Pros

Very intelligent and extremely talented people to work with, management is easily accessible. Good attempts at community building and interfacing outside of work. Flexible work conditions depending on manager and department.

Cons

Talent is not developed. Little to no training, abilities of employees are EXTREMELY under-utilized. The staff is cut so low in important positions that people who are good employees are pushed past the point of breaking, continually asked to do more while providing these people with less resources. Other areas have more employees than are needed and do not provide a value added service. This is a boys club. Men start off making significantly more money, they are continually promoted and given bigger raises than women. Very sexist organization. Verbally abusive from upper management down, this abusive negative behavior is funneled down from the top and gets worse the lower in the organization you get. Business focus is to outsource, no pride in the product that is able to be built on site. There is a big riff between the company in the union which is not conducive to a positive work environment. Way too much finger pointing and wanting to know who is to blame. Playing the blame game is rewarded.

Company Bail Out

Pros

None at this time. All of the upper management bailed out with a Golden Parachute and more power to them but in the greed the release all of the people who spent their entire lives making the company what it was...

Cons

Company has adopted a full time plan to be make it attractive for a buyout. Cut everything and every body to the bone. Leveraged any type of slump in the market to lay off employees who made the company what it is and replace with college entry people. I am not saying do not apply there but be aware that anyone could be cut at anytime.

Pros

The lower level employees are fantastic and very respectful of each other.

Cons

Management is atrocious, the workload and hours is similar to a sweat shop (this is because managers do receive a bonus so they force their employees to work like slaves so they can earn a larger bonus), the variance in pay from one job and employee to the next is embarrassing and the cronyism goes beyond that of the US government. No bonus is offered to any employees outside of management, yet employees are required to complete a PMP review. Although there is 3 weeks’ vacation it is actually accrued monthly, therefore if you leave your job in August and have used all 3 weeks, they will deduct this from your last paycheck. Previous large corps I have worked for will actually relieve you of your 2 week notice and pay you to assure there is no liability in the last weeks of employment (very smart move). Overall, this company does not act like a large corporation in any way shape or form. I could go on...
