Pros

They majority of the staff are great co-workers. They try hold summer lunch functions as co-workers, not through the company. This adds bonding with your piers.

Cons

1. Micro-Managed 2. There's favoritism 3. There's no growth potential 4. CEO does not trust anyone 5. Underpaid employees 6. CEO talks down to employees 7. Health insurance carrier changes every year

I’m sorry to hear about your negative feedback on your experience with DSG. We believe that our salaries are competitive and there are many consultants who have grown into Senior roles and Project Leaders. We host a monthly catered dinner where consultants present current “hot” projects and the company (and employees) acknowledge them for all of their hard work! Our health insurance did requiring adjusting as an unfortunate result of the many changes with the nation’s healthcare policies. However, DSG always ensured that employees were receiving the best plan available balanced with the cost to the employee and company.

No career growth, micro management, terrible managers, not open for ideas or suggestions, poor work culture, sad working environment, small projects and unable to retain the customers or employees, high attrition rate. Resources are not utilized effectively.

Dunn Solutions has a strategy of promoting outstanding employees within the organization. Many entry level consultants (some right out of college) have been promoted into senior consultant and project leaders/manager roles. We also have many employees that have worked with the company for five years or more. Our project sizes tend to be in the $200,000 to $2MM dollar range - with most clients being in the $100MM to $3B revenue size. We also have many Fortune 500 companies who are currently clients as well. We are very proud of the clients that we have gained and maintained since the company’s start in 1988.

Pros

Get to meet lots of new people because turn over is very high for the developers. Seems like people tend to use this place as a filler while looking for new opportunities.

Cons

As a Developer, I found that the environment was not really conducive to collaboration. There were way to many meetings where nothing was accomplished other then racking up billable hours. This also cause the people I was developing for to not be happy with the hours, and it seemed projects always went over the budget. There is no standardization, each developer does their own thing. All of the projects are grossly under bid, meaning that the hours dry up faster than the work can be completed, then the developer is blamed for not meeting the completely unrealistic deadlines that were sold to the clients.

I’m sorry to hear that you did not have positive feedback from your time at Dunn Solutions. As with most consulting companies, there can be challenges involved when working with various clients. Our consultants are often expected to adapt to the client and project they are working on, including their preference for meetings. At DSG, we try to do our best when writing proposals and bidding projects, however there are always unexpected challenges which can occur during a project. I’m proud to say that we do listen to employee feedback and our dress code is now casual! We have a catered monthly dinner and lunch, Dunkin Donuts every Friday, snacks throughout the week, and holiday celebrations which keep the office environment exciting. The culture has only improved and continues to!
