I strongly advise anyone considering a job at Dupe VFX to think twice before joining. They present themselves as a B Corp, but unfortunately, they don’t live up to the values that status should represent. The reality is far from the ethical and sustainable practices they claim to uphold.
The company is plagued with severe issues, starting with underpayment and chronic cash flow problems. They constantly mislead employees about financial stability and growth opportunities, which simply don’t exist. Favoritism is rampant, and there’s a clear sexist culture that particularly degrades women, making them feel inadequate and undervalued.
Professionalism is sorely lacking, with management allowing, and sometimes even encouraging, abusive behavior among staff. The mental abuse in this environment is unlike anything I’ve experienced, pushing people to their limits and breaking them down mentally.
There’s no proper forecasting or planning, leading to chaotic work conditions and unrealistic expectations. If you care about your mental health and want to work in a respectful, professional environment, steer clear of Dupe VFX. Don’t get duped by their misleading image – it’s all a façade.
