Horrible Leadership!

Pros

The number of days off and the tuition remission. Having a chapel right on campus.

Cons

Dysfunctional leadership driven by drama. There exists favoritism and no growth opportunities. Your voice and opinions mean nothing. It is frowned upon if you have children and there is no life/work balance. They make you feel guilty when you take vacation days. The leadership micromanages everything and your skill set becomes stagnant.

Pros

Coworkers understanding of University's callous treatment, unable to do anything, but at least can vent. Honestly, can't think of any. Parking high, benefits being reduced to every year.... Not much to say. No appreciation....

Cons

Watching and listening to the Administration, at all levels, spew and spin their rhetoric about be the Duquesne Spiritan Mission. It's a joke. Don't be fooled. As an Catholic, I am sickened every day at the treatment of the staff and the lack of knowledge you have as to what is really going on within your schools. Human Resources Dept, wow, take a good look there. Don't see much Spiritan... Where are the Father's? Besides giving the blessings at beginning of functions? Are they at the table for big decisions?

Pros

401K 8% match, tuition remission at 100% for the first degree and 50% for a second degree, a few extra paid holidays off than most because of those catholic holidays, and a set schedule that usually doesn't require you to work later or work on weekends.

Cons

No flex time, no telecommuting, can't roll over your vacation days year to year or cash them out, no accruing and earning vacation days - you get 22 days of vacation regardless if you've worked there 2 years or 13 years (which is my case), no bonuses, and no consistent pay increase (which the last several years have either been a pay freeze or a 2% increase - which usually doesn't even cover the increase in benefits or parking).
