Good people, terrible management, dysfunctional HR - people are leaving in droves
Pros
The individuals working at project level are amazing people who will support and help you.
Cons
At least 10 people have left this year, it is only a 60 person company. I know what you are thinking: this is a chance to work for an European institute, this is a chance to work at something interesting and engaging, this is going to help my career. But no, you will spend most of your time dealing with the labyrinth of bureaucracy, you will be massively overworked because they won't hire enough staff, anything positive you do will be overlooked and go unrewarded. You will burnout from the toxic senior management who seem to resent their staff. Also the HR department is utterly dysfunctional and is more concerned with playing bizarre office politics and battling with employees about basic rights than doing anything important like recruiting or providing answers to questions to new starters. It is toxic, do not work here.
