Pros
nobody cares much about your daily work, so you have a lot of time for your own business..., indeed you can pretend to be doing something while spending your time doing something else. Almost a standard practise in ELI.
Cons
terrible place for working (in any team), employees completely frustrated. All teams are missmaganed. In general all managers/ group leaders just came because they are friends of someone else inside (which is ridiculous for a scientific project), or even worst they have been fired from thier previous jobs and after a long search for a new one they arrived here because nobody else want to do - due to very low (european standars) salaries. If someone will ever write a book about how to actract the less possible skilled people and create a project ... ELI must be the case-studio. Almost not a single manager/group leader seems to have any technical background in the area he is in charge of. More and more employs agree that the project has already failed.
