Pros

Helped with some professional development

Cons

You will be told how they treat you so wonderful and that you would never find this at another job. Meanwhile they will treat you terribly and make you dread going to work. Fancy dinners are not a fix-all for employees. Especially when you push alcohol on them. TURNOVER IS AWFUL. They fire sales staff and engineers at the drop of a hat and with talk absolute garbage about each employee once they leave. They will be angry if they find out you are still speaking to an ex-coworker who left. After one year, only the CEO, CFO, Director, and one other employee were the only ones to make it through a full year. All of the employees are very overworked and management is blind to it while they put way too much trust into their Director who is cold and abrasive. In my time here, I was told that I was essentially incompetent daily when I was unable to complete 40 hours worth of work in 2 days. When I expressed concern in having an overload of tasks and expressing burnout concerns, I was told I "clearly needed to put in more hours out of office to finish what I was assigned". I was already working from home every night and staying late most days. The CEO and CFO go off on screaming tangents in the tiny office and leads to a fearful environment as we were all so scared to set off the CEO. If you were not like them, you were not what they wanted.

We are sorry you feel this way, but do need to professionally disagree. As you know from working here we are an international consulting firm and employees do need to be flexible to work outside the norm. Again, all things that are agreed upon prior to employment. We wish you the best of luck in finding a company that is a better fit for you.

Pros

There are no pros for this company.

Cons

Extremely unrealistic expectations from leadership despite not being trained properly or effectively. During my time here I personally experienced leadership talk poorly about current/former employees because it is so easy to overhear conversations in a small office. I witnessed a current employee (at the time) be called a f***ing idiot behind their back, among many other horrible things. This is not a professional work environment by any means and the language used around the office reflects that. They have a terrible sense of office culture and do not have a friendly environment, which is important considering they require employees to work 100% full time in-person. If you value any form of work-life balance, this is not the place for you. Leadership will call at 11pm even while you are out on PTO and then will make comments that you are not reachable while out of office. This place sets you up for failure from day-1 and the close knit circle of leadership only care for themselves and not the wellbeing of other employees.

Pros

Pay is decent for the job. Will take you out for nice dinners.

Cons

They expect everything to get done exactly how they want. Even though they offer you to be trained, they expect you to know exactly what you're doing before. Micro-managed day with checklists and meetings about what exactly you did and how it went. Lots of turnover within the company which is very stressful.

We are concerned by the claims you've made in your review, as they do not accurately represent our company values or our approach to employee development and management. At EMMA International, we are committed to providing comprehensive training and support to all our team members, with the understanding that it takes time to fully grasp new roles and responsibilities. Our goal is to create an environment where employees can learn and grow, and we do not expect perfection from day one. We also strive to maintain a balance between oversight and autonomy, giving our employees the space they need to flourish. Regular checklists and meetings are intended to facilitate communication and collaboration, not to micromanage. Regarding turnover, we are continuously working to improve employee retention and satisfaction. It is essential for us to receive accurate and constructive feedback to help us identify areas for improvement.
