Pros

Great group of young people that get along well - good synergy among the team. Very casual work atmosphere. Small team. Some opportunities for growth if you are a self starter. Work is very interesting and an excellent introduction into the field of building energy efficiency.

Cons

- Benefits are seriously lacking. Company does not provide health insurance or retirements benefits. Vacation days are minimal. - Very few feedback meetings. Less than one feedback meeting per year. - Senior management is out of touch with employees. Management does not discuss with employees to gauge happiness and does not take requests seriously. Senior management does not seek feedback on their performance or employee happiness. - Company does not often have team-building exercises or builds company culture outside of work. - Management enforces a "work work work" attitude. Sales dept. continually signs more projects that strains the resources of the company. - Often stressful workplace where are criticism is often given non-constructively. Employees are often micromanaged. - Office space is small and overcrowded. Primary office is a medium sized room holding eleven people. Impossible to have a private conversation anywhere in the office. Difficult to focus with so many people. Very little personal space. - Serious lack of management experience on the team. Need someone with good communication skills, ability to identify potential in individuals and develop it. - Lack of company values. Company has participated in ethically questionable activities. - Financial details of the company (financial performance, possible directions, profits, etc etc) are kept tightly under wraps. Employees working on specific projects are denied access to contracts - suggesting company is trying to withhold how much money they are making. Employees have the right to know how much their work is worth to the company. - Management continues to retain employees that discuss non-workplace appropriate matters, alienate other team members, and do not produce work simply due to loyalty.

Pros

- Great people to work with (very intelligent, helpful, and encouraging) - The auditing team is very cooperative and supportive - Everyone is willing to teach and help each other - The company offers social activities for team bonding opportunities that are actually very enjoyable - Employees can routinely suggest social activities (Examples: Escape the room, museums, sporting events, etc.) - The company encourages and allocates money for employees to take advantage of professional development opportunities (classes, conferences, etc.)

Cons

- Management can be more proactive about reaching out to employees to notice and deal with issues that arise at a timely manner - Benefit packages can be more competitive (in terms of health, dental, vision would be great, retirement plan would be great)

Pros

EN-POWER is a small engineering company which specializes in energy engineering in New York City. The office dynamic is fun and collaborative. The company is growing rapidly, so there are many things to learn and expand your knowledge. A good balance of office and field work keep things interesting.

Cons

Management puts it on you to explore your own endeavors, and expect you to develop your niche in the company. This is not a bad thing, but less independent and outgoing people could have an issue with this.
