Pros

Lots of travel opportunities. The company really does everything they can to help you get out and see their destinations. At least two long-haul trips a year to Asia with a good mix of company meetings and experiencing the product. They have top quality products and experiences that you can believe in and sell without any concerns. Great people in all destinations, really a pleasure to work with. Really good to work with such a reputable and well respected company. Management vision and direction is clear. Everyone is working towards the same goals.

Cons

Expectations are high and hitting targets is not easy. A big company and sometimes there is a big difference between competence levels in different destinations.

Pros

- The people (staff) are great to work with. The company is really lucky to have a well-balanced office environment in terms of its people. - Flexible time and even working from home are allowed.

Cons

- The people in HQ are all amateurs, trying to seem professional with what they are doing when it's obvious that they lack the ability to make sound decisions. That's why plans and projects change all the time. And then they blame it on the staff when projects take longer time to finish. - Many people have managerial and such titles but promise to be unreliable. Upper management does not regard hard work and dedication but only looks at the most talkative and bubbly ones, who get all the glory even if they don't even have to work for it. - Management only focuses on numbers and how much money it can get. Staff always have to fight for their compensation. HR is the most incapable I have seen in my entire career. - Staff are overworked and underpaid and undervalued. Who gets the glory? Their white-skinned managers who are incompetent. - The company does not know how to say no to agents and clients. They think that's being positive while the staff thinks that that is just being stupid and greedy. - Management does not have the gutts nor the appropriate skills to fire a non-performing staff. They will just bounce that person from one department to another and slyly lessen his/her responsibilities until that person loses motivation and decides to leave the company. - Regular "training" for staff are a complete waste of everyone's time. You spend days going to these training just coming out of it the same as you were when you get back to your desk. The topics are impractical and everyone is clueless as to why they have to do this and what shall they do with all these idealistic points that cannot be applied at work. - Upper management is completely clueless about staff's daily struggle and refuses to see it from their perspective. That's why the decisions, projects, and even the training are more against the staff than for them. - Most of the sales managers are just here for the money, the title, and I believe just because they know that they cannot be employed elsewhere.

It’s always valuable to receive feedback, reflect upon it and use it as an opportunity to improve. We’re doing exactly that with this thorough and appreciated post. We only wish that you had come forward with these suggestions earlier, when you were a member of our team. We’re sorry to learn there were aspects of your time at EXO Travel that didn’t meet your expectations. We work hard to build and maintain a multicultural, inclusive work environment, with opportunities for all. Kaizen (continuous improvement) is a centerpoint of our culture, something our training programs promote and you no doubt recall. Glassdoor provides a good opportunity for that here. While we take your feedback on-board, and acknowledge no person or company is perfect, we stand by our teams, team members and approach. We operate with good intent, employ the very best people in the travel industry, and treat each and every person with respect, dignity, and provide platforms for personal and professional growth. All our managers’ doors are literally and metaphorically ‘open’ at all times, ready and willing to take on feedback, discuss and work through any issues. We’ve been leading the way in travel in Asia since 1993 and will continue to do so. Few relationships are perfect and it seems this one, less than perfect. Again, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback, and we wish you all the best with your career.

Pros

Very multi-national working environment with young and friendly co-workers of all backgrounds.

Cons

This company is already blacklisted! They not only violate regulations, they also threaten current & ex-coworkers with reports to immigration authorities, sponsor visa to let them be canceled etc. long list! Salary is super low and the daily overtime is not paid!

Thank you for taking time to provide feedback on your experience at EXO Travel. We’re sorry to hear your time with us seems to be less than ideal. Your comment about our company being ‘blacklisted’ is confusing, as we’re not sure where such a list exists and we are quite confident we are not on it. We have been leading the way in travel since 1993, operate at the very top of the industry and do not participate or promote any unethical practices. We have never threatened current or ex employees, and operate 100% legally with Immigration regulations and authorities in all our destinations. To ensure we operate ethically both inside and outside company walls, we established EXO Foundation in 2011, who operates independently of EXO Travel, advises on good practices and policy, which we take very seriously. Thank you again for your valuable feedback and we hope your current position is a better fit.
