Pros

*Interesting industry *Merch is alright

Cons

* The micromanagement at this company is excessive and happens across departments. Managers think workaholism is something to be proud of and impose unrealistic expectations, expecting employees to be online 24/7 and responding to customer queries within seconds * There’s a noticeable lack of trust in employees’ abilities to manage their own work. Instead of empowering staff, managers focus on minute details and closely monitor every action, which ultimately wastes time and stifles productivity * Managers have only worked within this company and lack broader industry experience. This narrow perspective limits their ability to see the bigger picture and evolve a business unit * The constant passive-aggressive pressure to perform at an unsustainable pace led me to resign. I feel the focus was more on control and maintaining a façade of productivity than on fostering a supportive and healthy work environment

Pros

Worked with some genuinely talented and supportive colleagues (many of whom have since left)

Cons

Significant change in company culture following private equity acquisition Senior leadership hires without relevant education sector background, focusing heavily on short-term results Targets often felt unrealistic, with limited practical support — feedback was frequently framed as “this is what the board wants” Decision-making often focused on quick fixes rather than long-term solutions Limited collaboration between departments, which has negatively affected operations and customer perception Strong bullying culture among some teams

Pros

Unbelievably friendly, professional, hard-working, solution-focused employees who are passionate about the company and collectively working to help humanise technology for lifelong learners. Amazing succession pathway which sits alongside the PDP and training. Great benefits include wellness benefits and additional days of leave provided. Always working to make improvements, this could include working towards certifications, e.g. Rainbow Tick, B-Corp

Cons

The culture and the people that I work alongside in a fun, caring but, hard-working environment are almost addictive and because it doesn't feel like 'a job' it is easy to 'work' endlessly. I would also add - this isn't necessarily a con but, you need to be pro-active and take ownership of your own KPIs and success.
