Pros

Monday to Friday, Weekends off, Subsidized canteen food, Health insurance, Pension contribution matching, Christmas bonus.

Cons

Toxic coworkers: Not all, and not in all bays, but some people don't stick to specified work instructions, working too fast, causing pile ups, hiding extra work, unnecessarily causing stress to other workers and then often verbally abusing them. Depending on the team leader, they often get away with it most of the time. Useless HR: Most of the time it's pointless going to HR with issues regarding other workers. Don't even bother trying to report a team leader, they will always make it look like you're the issue, HR will always side with them. Incompetent team leaders: Team leaders are untrained, unqualified, rude, have no people's skills. They will disrespect you, pull you aside for trivial issues, they will shout at you like you're their child. Often will instruct people to isolate certain coworkers by not speaking to them and staying away from them. Even if you do your daily rate, they will laugh at you and threaten to "get rid of you" because you're "barely scraping by"... Some are straight up bullies (no joke). Average pay: A lot of firms in Shannon will pay you more for much less work, do your research. It's an OK starting job, but keep looking, better jobs are out there. Fixed summer holiday: Summer holiday during the most expensive period, not the best way to do it. Most firms have systems for holiday booking, they could easily implement it too. Disrespectful management members: No people's skills, no sympathy, lying and secrecy. Stressful work environment: Team leaders will shout you, give special treatment to their pallies, keep you on the hardest jobs. Some coworkers will pressurize you to work during your breaks. You can't just go to the bathroom when nature calls... Unfair job distribution: Depending on where they put you to work, you will either love Ei or hate it. You can either land a really easy job, where you practically do nothing all day, team leader is easy going, or the pace of your job will be really nice and manageable. Or you will end up in a bay with a bully for a team leader, and the pace of your job will be so unbelievably fast you will wish you never joined the place... Temperature: They just really can't get this right... The new building has a nice heating/cooling system built in, but the old part of the factory is ether freezing or way too hot... Unfair dismissal is not unheard of: Don't look at your team leader funny, do your rate, keep your head down, be careful what pictures you put up on your personal social media, and you will be fine. As you can see the pros are nice, but if you value your mental health, don't stay here longer than a couple of years. These cons are more prevalent in some of the bays than others, you might get lucky and never experience some of these issues. In my 10 years, I was moved between few bays, some were really nice to work in. I'm in Zimmer now and never looked back since I joined. If you're joining as an engineer or other professional, these don't really apply to you, you will be looked after in this case.

Pros

Leaving at the end of the day

Cons

Where do i even start, the supervisors act like old school teachers and treat and speak to you like students. The doors are locked during the day so you cannot get out unless its break and lunch. You also get 2 ten minute breaks but you are not allowed to get fresh air. The rate is ridiculous and god forbid if you need to blow your nose for a minute as you will be behind, the testers are something which was made during the war and are not effective.
