Run away, far away, and never return.
Pros
Hey, it's a job? Thickens your skin, I guess. It can be used as a resume builder and references for something better later on. They do give time off for Christmas.
Cons
Where do I begin? Executives gossip like crazy and have major drama - they go behind each others' backs all of the time. Employees are often thrown under the bus by each other. Assistants are treated like scum of the Earth. Projects produced in house are poor and generally do poorly. Company has been losing money for years and is a sinking ship. Distribution of outside films are the only thing keeping it afloat. No room for growth at the Intern or Assistant level. Executives are unorganized and ask for impossible tasks. Vacation days are a joke - they expect you to be on call and work 24/7 from anywhere. Temper tantrums in upper management are common. You are expected to give everything to this company, keep your head down, all while being severely underpaid. Many of my coworkers worked there for years and were "loved" there only to be told they'd need to be an assistant for "4 more years" before moving up anywhere. Other coworkers were rewarded for their loyalty and commitment with a higher level position, only let them go a year later and telling them their department was no longer needed. It's clear they don't know what they're doing or where they want the company to go - they create departments at the drop of a hat and just as quickly, shut them down. I've seen many, many employees come and go due to this. Not a stable work environment. My only recommendation would be to use it as a resume builder if trying to break into the industry, stay for 2-3 years, then move on to somewhere that can actually progress you in the industry and your career.
